 THS - Southern Region - Note: No new referrals to Dermatology Outpatient Clinic will be accepted.

Refer to a specialist when diagnosis is unclear and also for initial management and advice.

Biopsy to occur before referral to a specialist.

  • Exclude insect bites and trauma as cause for blistering
  • Prevent secondary infection

Patients with extensive blistering or who are systemically unwell

Red flags are clinical indicators of possible serious underlying conditions requiring further medical intervention. They may or may not indicate an emergency.
